思维悦动 “棋”领风潮
——无锡外国语学校国际象棋社再获佳绩
5月29日，25名来自我校国际象棋社团的棋手们参加了2016无锡市“连元杯”国际象棋等级赛。这次比赛总共有七轮棋，共有超过400名来自市区不同学校的选手们参加。在社长Zach和副社长Jacky的带领下，我校获得了4个不同组别的团体冠军、个人冠军和1个个人亚军的优异成绩。

这次参赛是继去年12月份以来，我校第二次组队参赛。相比较于第一次的参赛经历，本次我校的棋手们，不仅是在棋艺上，更是在心理的调整能力上，有着显著的进步。其中，国际部9年级A班的夏彰特同学在男子五级组的比赛中，先弈和一局，之后连下六城，获得了冠军。9年级B班的刘莹莹同学在女子六级组中同样以6.5分的成绩获得了冠军。另外，十年级B班的刘成铭、夏辉特，五里校区的吴锦瑄分别获得了棋王组男子亚军、第五名和棋王组女子冠军的好成绩。

On May 29th, 25 members of Chess Club of Wuxi Foreign Language School took part in 2016 Wuxi Chess Ranking Tournament. The tournament lasted 8 hours and there were 7 rounds of games. Over 400 players were involved in the tournament.This is the second time for our school’s Chess Club to attend a tournament. Under the leadership of club leader, Zach and vice club leader, Jacky, we won 4 section champions, 4 gold metals and 1 silver metal in total. All members performed their best in the tournament on that Sunday.
Comparing to the tournament last year, many of our chess club members have increasingly improved, not only in skills of playing chess, but also in ability of adjusting mental status. Take one of this time’s champion, Justin, as an example. In the first round, he was not concentrated and the game did not end well. Nevertheless, Justin noticed his problem and fixed that real soon to get himself prepared. After that, Justin won the left 6 games in a row and won the gold metal.
