Wehave been in Adelaide for two weeks. We miss our hometown and the food in Wuxi. So we made up minds to cook Chinese food for the homestay to thank for they kindness and help .
On Saturday night, we listed the food we needed. We planned to cook tomato scrambled eggs, pickled cabbage fish, braised pork ribs and sour spicy potatoes. On Sunday morning, the homestay parents took us to the supermarkets. First, we went to a Chinese supermarket to buy soy sauce and cooking wine. Then we went to a local supermarket for meat and vegetables, because the food there are much fresher and cheaper. We bought what we needed for the dinner.
At four o 'clock in the afternoon, Sandra came to our home and help us to prepare the dinner. Sara washed vegetable ,fish and meat. Sandra cut the fish and meat into pieces. I was the chef. I cooked all the dishes. My favorite dish is red pock ribbon. First , I boiled the meat in hot water, and then poured oil into the hot pot and I put soy sauce and sugar in it. This is red sauce for the for the brown pork ribbons. I put the boiled meat into the sauce and stew for forty minutes. Then it almost finished by six o’clock. The pork smells good. My homestay parents liked it very much and I think all the dishes I cooked are nice.
We ate up all the dishes within half hour. The homestay parents were happy and satisfied. We hada really good time.
